Apart from the Antonio Brown saga, the drama surrounding the Arizona Cardinals and the first pick in the 2019 draft was the biggest story of the NFL offseason. Things were especially hectic for Josh Rosen, the Cardinals' first round pick last year. Rosen was helpless as rumors swirled that the team was planning on taking Kyler Murray; he had no idea what to believe.

Eventually the Cards did draft Murray, and Rosen was shipped out to the Miami Dolphins soon after. Rosen was kept in the dark throughout the process, and general manager Steve Keim never told him what was happening.  Rosen appeared on the Rich Eisen show recently, and revealed that he still hasn't spoken to Keim since this all went down.

“The only thing that really did kind of frustrate me through this whole process was like I still haven't heard from my old GM,” Rosen said. “I hadn't talked to him for months before. Still haven't talked to him after. That was kind of frustrating, but for the most part, I'm just ready to put that whole chapter behind me and keep pushing on and playing football.”

Rosen was clearly not happy with how Keim handled things, and it's not a good look for the organization. For what it's worth, Rosen was quite complimentary of new Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury, saying:

“So Kliff gave me an actual call a minute before it happened saying that we're going to draft Kyler. I mean, I have the most respect for Kliff. I don't slight anyone for making business decisions they think are best for them and their family, but I appreciated how he acted like a man and was very respectful. He was wishing me the best. He called me even the day after the draft wishing me good luck. And I wished him good luck.”

Rosen also said he reached out to Murray himself, relaying that he “even gave Kyler a call, sent him a text that said good luck, I'm wishing you the best.” Rosen has handled the situation like a pro, and it was obviously tough for him. It'll be interesting to see if Keim does anything to explain his handling of the situation.
