After witnessing a complete turnaround this season and coming within one game of making the playoffs, the Cleveland Cavaliers are ready to begin a new era. Hoping to return to the playoffs sooner than later, the Cavaliers will have some tough decisions to make. In what's set to be another crazy NBA offseason, the Cavs will be looking to take the next step with some quality additions. Let's now take a look at four early targets for Cleveland in 2022 NBA free agency.

Cavs NBA 2022 Free Agency Targets

Rajon Rondo

As a trade deadline acquisition that was brought in to add point guard depth for them, Rajon Rondo is one free agent the Cavs should strongly consider re-signing. His veteran leadership, championship pedigree, and overall feel for the game are all assets that would pay off in a major way for Cleveland. For a young up-and-comer like the Cavaliers, having a known quantity like Rondo in the mix will be vital for them throughout the season.

Jalen Brunson

Over the past few years, Jalen Brunson has established himself as a high production floor general that can knock down big shots. Although he's been vital to the Mavericks' recent success, Brunson could serve a bigger role elsewhere. His scoring and playmaking abilities would do wonders for the Cavs.

Plus the signing of an established young guard like Brunson would add to their youth movement and give them the additional facilitator that they're sorely lacking. Not to mention he's a pitbull defender and one of the toughest players in the league. In Brunson, the Cavaliers would have a top-notch combo guard playing alongside Darius Garland.

Malik Monk

Coming off the best season of his career, Malik Monk has proven himself as an elite scoring guard with great upside to his game. On the Cavaliers, Monk could be the ultimate spark and elevate their offense. Monk's shooting and slashing abilities allow him to get hot quickly and give his team a boost. Whether he's in a starting role or coming off the bench, Monk would be a great addition to this youthful and athletic Cavs squad that's keen on making a return to the playoffs.

Miles Bridges

This one may be a bit of a long shot for Cleveland to pull off in free agency, but making a play for Miles Bridges would be a move well worth it. He's a walking highlight reel and a dominating presence who would make the Cavaliers frontcourt rotation even scarier. As a young and promising talent with endless athleticism, much-improved skills, and defensive versatility, Bridges would be a perfect fit in Cleveland. Having Bridges play alongside Jarrett Allen and Lauri Markkanen is a scary thought in itself.

This would give the Cavaliers a complete frontcourt that would mesmerize opponents on a nightly basis. Coming off the best year of his career, Bridges would elevate their play on both ends of the court and continue to progress as a rising star in the NBA. If the Cavaliers can successfully pry him away from the Charlotte Hornets, then this could put them in the upper echelon of the Eastern Conference.
