Boston Celtics big man Al Horford is not a person who tries to mince words. As it reflects in his no-nonsense attitude on defense and offense, it clearly shows that the five-time All-Star is not someone to trifle with on the court. Recently, Horford may have stated something surprisingly interesting about their young rookie Robert Williams.

According to a tweet from Jay King of The Athletic, the Celtics veteran said that Williams may see more minutes on the court.

Al Horford said it won’t surprise him if Robert Williams starts to get more playing time because of his defensive activity and the way he can impact an opposing offense.

Williams, the 27th pick overall of the 2018 NBA draft, may be quite raw in a lot of areas. Although his size, athleticism, and youth may be enough to make decent meaningful contributions to a team with championship aspirations. Though he will clearly be behind the pecking order, he'll be a third or fourth string big man off the bench at best for now. Learning the ropes from tenured big men like Horford and Aaron Baynes gives Williams time to develop into a more impactful player.

However, the Celtics have an impressive track record of drafting rookies who are ready and able to contribute on the fly. It would not be a surprise if the former Texas standout would suddenly burst into the scene just like incoming sophomore Jayson Tatum.

With a shorthanded Celtics squandering their chances in the Eastern Conference Finals, this season will surely be a comeback with them at full strength. Besides their All-Star duo of Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward coming back, a balance of youth and experience on the roster will make the Celtics a team to look out for.
