The 2018-19 campaign was a rough one for Boston Celtics general manager Danny Ainge, both in terms of the product he saw on the floor and his health off of it.

During the playoffs, Ainge suffered a heart attack, the second one of his life.

But Ainge isn't letting the heart attack stop him from doing his job:

“You just move on,” said Ainge, according to Steve Bulpett of The Boston Herald.

While Ainge is being careful and understands that he may be need to take better care of himself (he has since lost 15 pounds), he is also still passionate about working for the Celtics and working with basketball in general:

“I’m at the stage in my life where I’m attending way too many funerals,” Ainge said. “So I’m just happy to be here and excited for our upcoming season. I love my job. I love the people I work with. I love the players. They keep me young. They’re a lot of fun to be around, as you can see by the four guys we just drafted.”

As for whether or not the 60-year-old was scared when the heart attack took place? Not necessarily, but it did make him rethink things a bit:

“I don’t know,” said Ainge. “Maybe I’m just naive and not understanding the depth of it, but, I mean, I’m scared enough to the point where I want to eat better and I want to be healthier, and I’m listening to my doctors a little more diligently and taking better care of myself.”

Ainge also said that he is not even all that worried about taking care of himself, saying “it's not that hard” and adding that his son, Austin, will snitch on him to mom if he strays from his diet.

Fortunately, Ainge seems just fine.
