The Boston Celtics are one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference, but they could use more firepower. Former Celtics star Isaiah Thomas is available after he was waived by the Los Angeles Clippers following his trade from the Washington Wizards, but Celtics president Danny Ainge doesn't seem too interested in bringing IT back to Boston.
In fact, Ainge and the Celtics aren't all that interested in anything on the buyout market right now:
Danny Ainge was speaking on @Toucherandrich this morning and said the team is monitoring the buyout market but "Nothing there interests us right now."
Ainge praised Isaiah Thomas, who is a free agent, but said he's not sure the fit would be right with this current Celtics team.

However, Ainge didn't close the door on a possible addition in the future as moves are made around the NBA and other opportunities potentially open up. He revealed that the Celtics will always be looking at the situation of the team one day at a time and identify possible problem areas that could be solved with a signing:
Ainge continued on to say that the Celtics would keep monitoring who is and becomes available and their own team needs to see if there is a fit down the line.
Players must be waived by 3/1 to be eligible for the playoffs with a new team.

Boston fans definitely remembered the heart Thomas gave the team during the 2017 playoffs. He was a big reason why the Celtics got to the Eastern Conference Finals in spite of losing his sister at the start of the postseason. Fans loved him for his heart and were very supportive of the diminutive guard after he was cut this earlier this season.
Isaiah Thomas is hoping he'll get to play for a contender before the season ends. While it may not be in Boston, perhaps another team will take a chance on him.
