The Boston Celtics’ fantastic run in the playoffs came to a screeching halt on Sunday when they absorbed a gut-wrenching 87-79 loss at the hands of LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers at TD Garden. To rub some more salt to the wounds of the Celtics and their supporters, particularly to Boston legend Paul Pierce, Jalen Rose took to social media and razzed the man they call The Truth.

“Paul, what happened to that truth juice.? I know you was there ready to laugh and celebrate and hand out the trophy. He was in the building ready to hand out the trophy to the Celtics.”

Instead of seeing the Celtics get past the Cavs, Pierce witnessed Boston shoot horribly from the field, while James was putting up another tremendous playoff performance. In Game 7, the Celtics shot just 34.1 percent from the field, including a pathetic 7-for-29 shooting from behind the arc. James, meanwhile, unloaded 35 points to go with 15 rebounds and nine assists in 48 minutes. James also made a crucial layup with over a minute left in regulation that broke the Celtics’ back, virtually sealing the win for Cleveland.

Despite that loss, the Celtics’ future remains bright with Kyrie Irving, Gordon Hayward, and a bunch of youngsters in their fold next season. For now, however, James and the Cavs remain kings of the East.
