New Orleans Pelicans superstar power forward Anthony Davis is finally on the trade block, which means Boston Celtics small forward Jaylen Brown is going to be mentioned in a bevy of trade rumors again.

The Celtics can't trade for Anthony Davis this season unless they part ways with star point guard Kyrie Irving because of the “Rose Rule.” With that said, Boston will likely wait until the summer to pursue Davis should New Orleans keep him on the roster past the Feb. 7 trade deadline.

Jaylen Brown is a smart guy. After all, he went to the University of California. The athletic swingman knows his name is going to be brought up in every single trade rumor imaginable, but Brown says he's going to keep fighting and working hard until people put some respect on his name.

“I’ve been fighting my whole life,” Brown told Michael Lee of the Atheltic. “Coming out of Georgia, single parent household, I’ve had to fight for everything I got. So, I’m going to keep doing that. Ain’t nothing changed. I’m going to keep my same energy. Keep earning it, keep fighting, until they put some ‘spec’ on my name.

“I’ve talked to Danny [Ainge] about a lot of stuff throughout the years. But he’s said the same stuff every year. ‘It’s a business. Rumors are just rumors.’ It’s the same stuff every year. Control what you can control and protect yourself.”

Davis has reportedly made it known in league circles he doesn't want to play for the Celtics, so all signs point toward Jaylen remaining in Boston.
