The Boston Celtics are listing forwards Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown as questionable to face the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday.

Tatum is dealing with a groin injury, while Brown has a sprained ankle. Both players didn't play on Friday during the Celtics' win against the Orlando Magic.

The Celtics are 30-14 on the season, fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings.

In 36 games this season, Jaylen Brown is averaging 20.0 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists. He’s shooting 49.1 percent from the field, 39.1 percent from beyond the arc and 75.2 percent from the free-throw line.

Brown is flourishing this season, which many believe is because he got his contract taken care of. The 23-year-old swingman signed a rookie-scale extension with the Celtics before the season started, so he’s playing free now and turning into an elite two-way player right before everyone’s eyes.

Celtics general manager and president of basketball operations Danny Ainge is starting to look really smart for not trading Tatum and Brown for some of the superstars who have requested trades over the past few seasons. Jayson Tatum is putting up 21.5 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 42 games for Boston.

The Celtics appear on their way to redeeming themselves after last season’s dysfunctional campaign which saw them lose to the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round of the playoffs in five games.
