Boston Celtics point guard Kemba Walker says Utah Jazz shooting guard Donovan Mitchell “reminds me of myself a lot.”

All signs point toward Walker and Mitchell starting for Team USA at the FIBA World Cup in China. The new Celtics point guard says he's really enjoyed playing with Mitchell in training camp.

“I love playing with that kid,” Walker said, via NBA.com. “He's such a competitor. He's so intense. He reminds me of myself a lot. I love it. It's going to be fun playing with him.”

And in regard to Mitchell's ability to play the two, Walker has no doubts.

“Easily,” Walker answered. “That kid is so talented, and he wants it. That's what I love the most.”

Both Kemba Walker and Donovan Mitchell are explosive scorers who can score from all areas of the court. Walker has the better handles, while Mitchell plays above the rim way more often than Kemba.

Walker, who signed with the Celtics this summer in free agency, has career averages of 19.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 5.5 assists in 605 NBA games. He put up 25.6 points and 5.9 assists last season with the Charlotte Hornets.

Walker is one of the best slashers and finishers in the league. The three-time All-Star always commands heavy traffic around him when he’s driving toward the basket. Walker's Team USA and Celtics teammates are going to get wide-open looks when he penetrates to the rim and collapses the defense.

Last season for the Jazz, Mitchell averaged 23.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.2 assists while shooting 43.2 percent from the field, 36.2 percent from beyond the arc and 80.6 percent from the free-throw line. The 22-year-old has established himself as one of the best young scorers in the league and is only going to become a more polished player after this Team USA experience.
