Could Anthony Davis ever play for the Boston Celtics? That has been the talk of the town after it was reported recently that Kyrie Irving once tried to recruit the big man to Beantown.

Of course that sparked talks about a potential David-Jayson Tatum partnership if ever the Celtics try to trade for the current Los Angeles Lakers superstar. Such deal would probably force the Cs to part ways with Jaylen Brown, but the prospect of a healthy AD playing alongside Tatum is certainly intriguing.

However, according to an anonymous NBA exec, Davis doesn't seem to be interested in the Celtics. If ever he requests for a trade from the Lakers, the said exec doesn't see the 28-year-old putting Boston as one of his preferred destinations.

“They (the Lakers) made such an effort to bring AD to that team. And if they are going to deal him, they would only send him where he wants to be. And I just don’t think Boston would ever be a team on his list,” the front office executive explained to Heavy.

For what it's worth, it is also unknown if the Celtics still have any interest in Anthony Davis with Brad Stevens now managing the front office. Boston is also clicking well recently with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown leading the way, and they might be convinced that the two are their future who can lead them to the promised land.

There is also the concern on Davis' health, having sustained multiple injuries throughout his career.

For now, it doesn't look like the Celtics would want to break the core they have now and gamble on an oft-injured center anyway.
