During their matchups the past two seasons, a rivalry started to brew between the Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards. Their meetings were hotly contested, with some of their players even getting involved in altercations. However, that changed on Monday, as the two teams faced off on Christmas Day, in a very competitive, yet skirmish-free game.

Kyrie Irving and John Wall were heard exchanging some words, but not with any animosity. Their back-and-forth centered on a missed dunk by the Wizards point guard, which Irving pointed out to him, leading to Wall responding to by asking for a pair of Kyrie’s.

Despite the missed bunk attempt, Wall had the last laugh on the night though, as the Wizards won on the road, 111-103. The Kentucky product finished with a solid double-double of 21 points and 14 assists, to go along with five rebounds and a steal.

The win also moved the team’s record up to 18-15 for the season, good for seventh place in the East. The C’s on the other hand lost for only the ninth time this season, but are still on top of the standings in their conference with a 27-9 win-loss slate.
