The Los Angeles Chargers grabbed a huge comeback road win over the Kansas City Chiefs that has put them in play to grab the top overall spot in the AFC playoff picture.

However, it came at a bit of a cost with Pro Bowl wide receiver Keenan Allen suffering an injury during the contest. It has since been diagnosed as being a hip pointer injury that could potentially force him to miss some playing time. (h/t Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk)

Doctors diagnosed Allen with a hip pointer, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports. Allen has “no structural damage, and nothing that’ll affect him long term,” via Rapoport.

Allen suffered the injury after he had attempted to make a grab in the end zone that saw him land directly on his hip. He was seen grabbing his hip immediately after the play and was subbed out of the game. Allen did not return to action for the rest of the contest as he finished the contest with no targets as the lone ball thrown his way was erased with a defensive holding that was called on the play.

The 26-year-old has been the Chargers' leading offensive weapon as he has 88 catches for 1,074 yards and six touchdowns this season. He has notched three games with more than 100 receiving yards along with notching at least five catches in all but three games this season.

Allen has been a highly reliable receiving option that has been one of Philip Rivers' go-to targets in the passing game.

There is a chance that this injury could force him to miss some action, but the extra time before Week 16 action against the Baltimore Ravens could provide him enough time to be ready to play. If not, this will shift more of the workload in the passing game to the likes of Mike Williams, Tyrell Williams, and Antonio Gates.

The former Clemson product, Williams, is coming off of a huge outing against the Chiefs where he had seven catches on nine targets for 76 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns along with a 19-yard rushing touchdown.
