With the 2020-21 NFL season beginning to take shape as this year's offseason continues to progress — albeit virtually — it is almost time to see players that have switched teams in their new threads. With former Los Angeles Chargers and current Denver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon right at the top of such a list, the former Wisconsin Badgers standout infamously switched AFC West franchises just one year after holding out for a new contract.

As a result of his untimely and seemingly chaotic departure from Los Angeles, Gordon has since opened up about exactly why things didn't ultimately work out with the Chargers.

“It really didn’t play out to my strengths, especially the first couple years there,” Gordon said during a recent interview with NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. “I kinda just had to adjust and make it work. It kinda wasn’t a system built for me. But I feel like Denver kinda runs my style of football, and I think it’s a great fit.”

With the Chargers moving on from both Gordon and current Indianapolis Colts quarterback Philip Rivers this offseason, Los Angeles will be looking a bit different come 2020-21. On the other hand, both Gordon and Rivers managed to find themselves on other AFC rosters with each seemingly having a legitimate shot at reaching the postseason this time around. Gordon, though, made the transition to a divisional rival in the Broncos, a team on the rise that has continued to add more and more weapons throughout the course of this offseason.
