The Chicago Bears are set to take on the Buffalo Bills on Saturday in their second preseason matchup this season. It should be a great game, as Matt Nagy and the coaching staff will have another opportunity to evaluate their roster. After making the playoffs last year, the Bears hope to repeat that performance. However, the entire team will need to step up to make that happen.

Chicago is a bit of a dark horse to make the postseason this year, but they have the talent to do it. We should see some of that on display on Saturday while they face off against the Bills. The Bears defense is hungry to prove they're one of the best in the league once again and a strong performance on Saturday could be enough to gain everybody's attention.

Offensively, the Bears are actually stacked up rather nicely. They have a deep group of tight ends with a young prospect ready to take over, while the receiving core could be vastly improved as well. The Bears selected Justin Fields with their first pick of the draft, so we should see the rookie often on Saturday. With that said, here are four bold predictions for the Bears' preseason matchup against the Bills.

4. The defense comes to play

It's no secret the Bills have an elite offense, so this is a great challenge for the Bears' defense. Chicago needs to prove they can hang with the best in the league as they hope to be a playoff-caliber franchise. It's a tough matchup, but one that could set the pace for the Bears' regular season.

3. Cole Kmet proves his worth

There is a lot of hype around Chicago's young tight end, as Cole Kmet has a ton of potential in this league. Kmet is competing for playing time with veteran Jimmy Graham. The duo gives the Chicago Bears a nice one-two punch in the tight end position. This is a great chance for Cole Kmet to take advantage though, as he could carve out a major role in the offense this year.

2. Darnell Mooney puts on a show

Darnell Mooney has been lights out throughout training camp and seems to have connected with Justin Fields often. Mooney is a stellar route runner who is a breakout candidate entering the second year of his career. Look for Darnell Mooney to make some big plays against the Bills, as he's aiming to prove he's the next best wide receiver behind Allen Robinson.

1. Justin Fields makes a strong case to be the starter

All five of the rookie quarterbacks taken in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft have looked impressive so far. Justin Fields hopes to continue that trend on Saturday as he should see receive a solid amount of playing time. He looked great in the preseason opener, and there is no reason to believe he won't repeat that performance. Andy Dalton is confident the starting job is his, but if Fields continues to impress, Matt Nagy and the coaching staff are going to have a difficult decision on their hands.
