The Kansas City Chiefs claimed Terrell Suggs off of waivers at the beginning of the week but he's going to have an immediate role in the defense. Kansas City plans for Suggs to be part of their defensive end rotation versus the Chicago Bears.

Before Week 15, the Arizona Cardinals waived Suggs after he spent the first 14 weeks with the team. The veteran edge rusher started in all 13 games with the Cardinals.

In those 13 starts, Suggs tallied 37 tackles, eight tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, and four forced fumbles. While he won't start on Sunday, Suggs will be given opportunities to get after Mitchell Trubisky.

The Chiefs currently have Suggs listed as the backup defensive end to Tanoh Kpassagnon. Kpassagnon is third on the team in sacks with four of them thus far. The addition of Suggs is needed with Alex Okafor and Emmanuel Ogbah being out for the entire season.

Altogether, Kansas City has combined for 39 sacks as a defense (11th in the NFL). Without a doubt, Suggs will help the Chiefs create more pressure on opposing quarterbacks.

At 37-years-old, Suggs may no longer be the dominant pass rusher he once was with the Baltimore Ravens. But that doesn't mean he can't make his presence felt for the Chiefs as they hope to make a Super Bowl run.

Suggs has played in Steve Spagnuolo's defense before when Spagnuolo was once with the Ravens. Therefore, Suggs hasn't needed much time to get acclimated to Kansas City's defensive schemes.

Provided that, the veteran pass rusher will see some time on the field in his first game in the No. 94 jersey.
