Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is poised to etch his name in history books once again if he manages to average 300+ passing yards per game and a 110+ passer rating for the remainder of the season, per NFL Network‘s James Palmer. Once achieved, he will get to be the first player in league history to achieve such a feat for two seasons in an entire career.

The Texas Tech alum had a historic season back in 2018 where he finished with 318.6 yards per game and a 113.8 passer rating. He also finished the same season with career-best tallies of 5,097 passing yards on 580 attempts and 50 touchdowns through 16 games played.

Mahomes went on to be named the NFL passing touchdowns leader, NFL Offensive Player of the Year, First Team All-Pro member, Pro Bowler, and the 2018 NFL MVP during the season.

His individual numbers dipped in the 2019 NFL season after dislocating his patella midway through their campaign. He managed to get past the injury and bounced back with impressive performances to close out the season. Mahomes eventually earned his second trip to the Pro Bowl and led the Chiefs to win its first Super Bowl in 50 years en route to being named the Super Bowl LIV MVP.

The second-generation professional athlete is now back to his dominant self after sustaining a healthy campaign thus far. He has already racked up 3,815 passing yards on 463 attempts and 31 touchdowns. His tallies also accounted for 317.9 yards per game and a 113.8 passer rating through 12 games played this season.

With an 11-1 record, Patrick Mahomes is aiming to lead his team back to the promised land for the second consecutive season to cap another great individual campaign for the 2020 NFL season.
