The Kansas City Chiefs will have most of their backfield available for Sunday's bout with the Tennessee Titans, but they won't the complete version of it. Running back LeSean McCoy is officially inactive for the matchup, the team announced.

McCoy is a healthy scratch for Sunday's tilt. According to James Palmer of NFL Network, McCoy is taking a predetermined rest week. The Chiefs want him healthy down the stretch.

Kansas City will get quarterback Patrick Mahomes and defensive end Frank Clark back for the Week 10 game. Mahomes missed the last two games after suffering a kneecap dislocation against the Denver Broncos. Clark did not play in the previous two with a neck injury.

McCoy has played in every game up to Week 10, starting six out of nine. On the season, the 31-year-old has 72 rush attempts for 371 yards and two touchdowns. He has recorded 20 receptions for 129 yards and a touchdown. Since Week 5's loss to the Indianapolis Colts, the tailback has fumbled twice.

Kansas City previously picked up McCoy after his cut-down day release by the Buffalo Bills. The move reunited him with head coach Andy Reid, who drafted him out of Pittsburgh in 2009 when both were part of the Philadelphia Eagles. The two worked together for four seasons before Philadelphia fired him. The elusive back was enjoying a bounce-back year with Big Red before being rested on Sunday.

With McCoy out, the Chiefs will rely on Damien Williams, Darrel Williams and Darwin Thompson at the position on Sunday.
