Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy has drawn plenty of interest in head coaching interviews but has yet to receive an actual offer from a franchise. Bieniemy is an integral piece of the puzzle for the Chiefs' success but there is reason to believe that he may not be back in Kansas City in 2022 after the latest reporting from NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Per Pelissero, Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy's contract is expiring, and he was passed up for head coaching opportunities again. This doesn't automatically mean that he'll be leaving Kansas City, but it definitely means that the skilled play-caller will seemingly have more options at his disposal than ever.

Bieniemy could potentially agree to a new contract with the Chiefs, or, as Pelissero notes, become perhaps the hottest free agent offensive coordinator in the league. He has been with Kansas City since the 2013 season where he began as a running backs coach before moving into the play-caller's chair in 2018.

Since that point, the Chiefs have arguably been the league's most dangerous offense. There are plenty of teams in the league who would love to have Bieniemy in their offensive coordinator's chair.

Nothing is set in stone, but the Chiefs could potentially be in the market for a new offensive coordinator as well as a new quarterbacks coach this offseason.
