During the first half of yesterday's wild card game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Tennessee Titans, Pro Bowl tight end Travis Kelce suffered a concussion.

Per Adam Teicher of ESPN, the Chiefs ruled him out for the rest of the game quite quickly due to the injury.

Kelce took a vicious hit from Titans rookie linebacker Jayon Brown near the tail end of the second quarter after making a 12-yard reception. It was immediately clear something was wrong when he had difficulty walking under his own power, appearing to be out of sorts trying to work his way off the field.

Kelce was eventually helped to the sideline by a few of his teammates, and after he was assessed by the team medical staff in the locker room, he was deemed out for the rest of the contest. Kelce was putting up a strong performance, hauling in all four targets for 66 yards and a touchdown.

His loss certainly hurt the Chiefs as they blew a 21-3 lead in the second half. Kelce was coming off another highly productive regular season, finishing with 83 catches for 1,038 receiving yards and eight touchdowns in 15 games played. This marks the second straight season where he has surpassed 80 catches and 1,000 receiving yards.

In his first four years in the league, Kelce has established himself as one of the top tight ends in the league. He has earned three straight Pro Bowl selections, an All-Pro First Team nod, and an All-Pro Second Team selection.

Despite this latest injury, Kelce has proven to be quite durable, missing just one game in his first four years. With Kansas City now out of the playoff picture, Kelce can rest up and recover for next season.
