Kansas City Chiefs star safety Tyrann Mathieu has been a key piece of helping the franchise to a 9-4 record. There are still some who don't think they are Super Bowl contenders, but that will only be revealed with time. In addition to his play on the field, Mathieu is also trying to make an impact for the Chiefs off of it.

Many players try to convince former teammates and friends to join their current team. That is exactly what Mathieu is working on right now.

On Twitter, Mathieu has been openly trying to recruit Arizona Cardinals star running back and his former teammate, David Johnson, to the Chiefs.

Johnson has seen his role diminish with the Cardinals this season. Kenyan Drake has taken over a large portion of his workload and it is obvious that Johnson isn't happy about that. Joining Mathieu in Kansas City certainly would make a lot of sense for the star running back.

So far this season, Johnson has carried the football just 89 times for 336 yards and two touchdowns. He has also caught 35 passes for 366 yards and four touchdowns. Arizona is making a mistake by making him unhappy with his current situation.

Thinking about Johnson with the Chiefs is a scary thought. Patrick Mahomes will be an MVP candidate every season, as long as he stays healthy. Giving him one of the best dual-threat running backs in the league in Johnson would make their offense almost impossible to stop.

Expect to hear a lot about Johnson this offseason, as there will likely be quite a few teams interested in acquiring him.
