Another week, another loss for the San Francisco 49ers.

After throttling the Los Angeles Rams on the first Monday night of the season, the Niners have lost their last four games. The offense is stagnant, and the defense has been way too inconsistent. The loss of their heart and soul, Navorro Bowman, makes that even tougher.

On Thursday night against the Cardinals, quarterback Blaine Gabbert regularly missed open throws. Of course, it doesn't that his receiving core is one of the worst in the league, but Gabbert hasn't done enough on his end, either.

With this latest loss, head coach Chip Kelly is finally ready to make some adjustments.

Time to make a change

While talking with ESPN's Nick Wagoner, Kelly “emphatically” stated that Gabbert has regularly outperformed Colin Kaepernick in practice, which is why he didn't consider making a change last night. However, he's not impressed with the offense overall, and the coaching staff is now open to making changes, including at quarterback.

Gabbert threw for 162 yards and a touchdown last night, but he also tossed a pair of picks. When the offense went stagnant for long stretches, the 49ers faithful in attendance began chanting “We want Kaep!”

After playing the Thursday game, the 49ers will have a long week off to prepare before traveling to Buffalo to take on the Bills in Week 6.
