It has been just over three weeks since Chris Paul made the surprising decision to push for a trade to the Houston Rockets, effectively ending his tenure with the L.A. Clippers.

However, infamous die-hard Clipper fan, Clipper Darrell, made his own public plea to Paul during a recent Drew League game before being stopped by James Harden.

This is likely a sentiment shared by many Clippers fans given the fact that Paul helped lead the team to their most successful stretch in franchise history. This includes six straight trips to the playoffs along with their first two Pacific division titles and five consecutive 50-plus win campaigns.

Despite Paul's departure from the Clippers, the team was able to recover well by making several different subsequent moves. The front office was able to retain Blake Griffin on a five-year, $173 million deal while adding proven veterans in Lou Williams and Patrick Beverley in the trade that moved Paul to Houston.

L.A. was also able to secure Danilo Gallinari in a three-team deal along with his new three-year, $65 million contract. Gallinari could become a reliable second scoring option behind Griffin forming another dynamic duo for the Clippers. That said, time will only tell how much impact Paul's departure will have on the franchise.
