Danilo Gallinari is in South Africa for the NBA's Basketball Without Borders game. While the LA Clippers' forward was there, he made some new furry friends. Gallinari was able to play with some cheetahs and a couple lions during his stay. In these pictures, it looks like he's getting along great with his new pals.

But not all the furry creatures took to kindly to Gallinari. This lion must be a Lakers fan. Credit to Gallinri for not even flinching in the face of this lion cub.

Gallinari had a successful trip and not only because he was able to pal around with some of Africa's most beautiful animals. He was money in the Basketball Without Borders game, leading Team World to a 96-92 victory over Team Africa.

Gallinari's 23 points led the way for his squad and the Italian was named the 2018 Manute Bol MVP. Not bad for a guy about to turn 30. The small forward is looking to bounce back next season after injuries derailed his 2017-18 campaign. Gallo only appeared in 21 games for the Clippers last season.

If he can stay healthy, he'll provide a spark to theĀ other team in Los Angeles. After LeBron James signed with the Lakers, the focus in Tinseltown has been all about King James.

But the Clippers surprised some people last year after trading away Blake Griffin, but remaining in the playoff hunt until the last couple of weeks in the season. Gallo and company will look to build off of last season, and hopefully take the next step towards securing a playoff spot.
