Hall of Famer Jerry West says he had a “very small” role in the Los Angeles Clippers' signing of superstar small forward Kawhi Leonard.

West is a special consultant with the Clippers. The “Logo” says Los Angeles' front office, led by president of basketball operations Lawrence Frank, general manager Michael Winger and assistant general managers Mark Hughes and Trent Redden, did all the heavy lifting.

“Very small,” West said on the Dan Patrick Show. “I just had a voice. Our front office was really terrific. They were really on top of this thing the whole way.”

Kawhi Leonard signed a three-year, $103 million contract with the Clippers. The two-time Finals MVP also recruited Paul George, who demanded a trade from the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Clips.

Jerry West is probably being humble here. West definitely played a massive part in building that team to make the Clippers a legitimate spot for Leonard and George to want to go to. We have to remember West brought Shaquille O'Neal to the Los Angeles Lakers back in the day and helped the Golden State Warriors get Kevin Durant in the summer of 2016.

The Clippers are now title contenders for the first time in franchise history with Leonard and George in the fold. 2019-20 is going to be a fun season for LA fans.
