After L.A. Clippers star guard Lou Williams seemingly called out Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star guard Jimmy Butler for sitting out of the 2018 NBA All-Star Game last night at Staples Center, Williams sent out another tweet on Monday afternoon that cleared the air and revealed that he was only joking around.

In response to an article posted by TheScore, Williams tweeted out that he was just trolling and claimed the whole situation wasn't bothering him.

According to an article written by Jerry Zgoda of the Star Tribune, Butler said that his decision not to play was the importance of resting his body for the Wolves' remaining 21 games of the season.

“Just rest, man,” Butler said. “I got to rest. I got to rest my body up. I know this Timberwolves season is very, very important to me. I’ve got to be ready to roll when I get back there.”

Houston Rockets head coach Mike D'Antoni, who served as coach of Team Stephen, said he respected Butler's decision to sit out of the All-Star Game on Sunday night, noting that he didn't practice at all.

“He was tired and just felt like his legs weren’t there,” coach D’Antoni said after the game. “He didn’t practice yesterday or play today. You have to respect that. He plays hard. Sometimes your body just needs a rest.”

In his first season with the Wolves, Butler is currently averaging 22.4 points on 47.6 percent shooting from the field, 5.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.9 steals per game. Williams, in his first year with the Clippers, is having a breakthrough season and putting up similar numbers with 23.2 points on 44.0 percent shooting, 5.2 assists, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game.

Many people were not happy about Williams getting snubbed of an All-Star Game roster spot, so Butler allegedly not playing a single minute because he was feeling under the weather just adds insult to injury for Williams' supporters. Essentially, it could be viewed that Butler wasted a roster spot on Team Stephen, but Butler definitely has put up All-Star numbers to show that he at least deserved to be selected.
