Last season, Blake Griffin got injured in a very random way after punching Los Angeles Clippers‘ staff Matias Testi.

Testi was a long time equipment manager for the Clippers. The situation came as a shock to many due to the Blake Griffin not really having any previous incidents off the court that went public, at least.

Both men have put the situation in the past, even shaking hands publicly after a Clippers game. However, that wasn't enough assurance that these two will still work with each other again next season.

According to a report from TMZ Sports, Matias Testi is no longer a member of the Los Angeles Clippers organization.

The L.A. Clippers equipment staffer who was punched in the face by Blake Griffin during a fight in Toronto earlier this year is off the team — and will NOT be back for the '16/'17 season … TMZ Sports has learned.

We spoke with a rep for the Clippers who confirmed Matias Testi “no longer works for the team.”

This may be a subtle attempt at trying to convince Griffin to stay in Los Angeles, as his contract is up at the end of the 2016-2017 season. Maybe there was something going on between them afterwards that the Clippers organization did not want to go public, and as a result of that they obviously sided with their superstar on the situation. Maybe everything was genuinely laid to rest as it appeared to be after the situation and the Clippers have done this as a preventative measure to a future situation that could potentially arise between them.

All we may ever know about this is Testi being severed from his ties with the Clippers organization. One thing that is for sure though, when you have someone who can generate that type of income, highlight plays, and attention to go along with being a top player in the NBA, the team will side with the player 99 percent of the time.
