Anthony Castonzo was a first round draft pick (22nd overall) by the Indianapolis Colts back in 2011. Since then, he's spent his entire career with the franchise. He has been a starting tackle the entire time.

Castonzo has built himself into one of the best offensive tackles in the NFL. In fact, you could make a strong argument that he's one of the best offensive linemen in the NFL, period.

The offensive tackle has been contemplating retiring though. That would put a serious wrench in the plans of the Colts.

Now there's some great news for Indianapolis though, as Castonzo has reportedly decided not to retire.

With Castonzo returning, the Colts are now working on a new contract. Currently, he's a free agent, but it is pretty likely that he will return to Indianapolis.

If that is indeed the case, they will want to sign him to a long-term deal. Get him locked up for the next few seasons, keeping retirement far from his mind.

The Colts lost quarterback Andrew Luck to a surprise retirement before the start of the 2019 season. Despite that, they still competed for a playoff spot all the way through Week 17.

If they can make a few improvements (including at the quarterback position), this could be a serious contender of a team. If you want that to happen, keeping one of the best offensive linemen in the entire NFL would definitely be wise.

Castonzo is set for the biggest contract of his career. That could have factored into his decision to not retire just yet. Now we have to wait and see just how much money he gets, and if it is indeed from the Colts.
