Carson Wentz may have had a rough time during the Indianapolis Colts' Week 1 match-up against Seattle, but the Colts QB is getting some much-needed help from an unlikely source.

Big lift for Indy: #Colts LT Eric Fisher, whose recovery from a torn Achilles happened faster than anyone imagined, is expected to start Sunday vs. the #Rams, source said. The Pro Bowler debuts to protect Carson Wentz.”

The news comes at a welcome time for Wentz and the Colts, who badly need an upgrade to their O-line. Fisher suffered a major Achilles injury towards the end of his time with the Kansas City Chiefs, but his rehab has gone surprisingly well. So well, in fact, the two-time Pro Bowler feels confident enough to return to the field this early. It remains to be seen whether Fisher can return to his old form, but any help that the Colts can get right now is welcome news.

Fisher has been raring to get back into the field ever since his unlucky injury. Speaking to reporters in May, the then-newly acquired Colts left tackle said that watching the Chiefs play without him was tough (via Colts.com)

“Sitting up in the stands, it was tough to watch, to know that the quarterback that I was protecting was running around there. It was tough to watch. I like being a consistent player, so to not be available to do that job for my team, it was tough.”

That dedication to winning and doing your job is a welcome sight for Colts fans. Hopefully, Eric Fisher will come back to his previous form and help Carson Wentz and the Colts make it deep into the playoffs.
