The Indianapolis Colts are facing some uncertainty at the quarterback position with Carson Wentz healing and resting after undergoing surgery. With the start of the season just a month away, it is likely that Wentz misses a good chunk of time.

However, the Colts were hit with a bit of good news on the Wentz front with the team assessing their quarterback situation, according to Zak Keefer of The Athletic.

This is good news for the Colts and the hope is he can return after just a few weeks into the regular season. For now, he sits by and watches, and Frank Reich and the team have decisions to make on their starter.

Jacob Eason and Sam Ehlinger have been battling it out at camp, and Reich mentioned that both will get reps with the first team for the remainder of the week as they prepare for their first preseason game.

The hope is that the Colts can stay afloat with either Eason or Ehlinger and Wentz can make a successful, quick return from his injury. The latest update provides a ray of hope for Reich and the Colts, and only time will tell to see when Wentz makes his return to the Colts huddle.
