Indianapolis Colts tight end Mo Alie-Cox has made quite the impression on head coach Frank Reich this offseason. It appears he could now be poised for a solid role in the 2019 NFL season.

According to Kevin Bowen of The Fan, Alie-Cox is expected to log in plenty of snaps moving forward behing tight ends Eric Ebron and Jack Doyle.

Even if Doyle and Ebron are healthy, Alie-Cox should still play a decent amount. He was even out-snapping Ebron in some games last season.

A 20-ish snap role for Alie-Cox is very possible, because he offers a nice versatile piece that can impact the run and/or the pass.

On any other team, the prospect of each tight end seeing the field consistently may seem a bit far-fetched, however, Reich is known for utilizing all three of them on offense. As a result, this could bode well for Alie-Cox's prospects of getting ample playing time despite being slotted behind Ebron and Doyle.

The Colts have done what they can to surround quarterback Andrew Luck with a strong supporting cast in recent years. While Ebron enjoyed a resurgence last year as one of the league's premier receiving tight ends and Doyle took over most of the snaps in run situations, it is clear that Alie-Cox has proven to be too intriguing of a weapon for Reich to sleep on. The 25-year-old has shown plenty of promise in both areas of expertise and could very well find himself eating into both roles moving forward.
