Pro Football Focus has an interesting fact about new Indianapolis Colts edge rusher Justin Houston.

According to PFF's official Twitter account, Houston had one of the NFL's highest pass-rush win rates in his last season with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2018.

This statistic certainly bodes well for Colts defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus. The Colts' pass rush was one of the worst in the league last season. It garnered the fourth-worst grade from Pro Football Focus (64.0).

Houston's addition should help offset that. Including him in Indy's pass rush should help translate to more wins and hopefully another Super Bowl Trophy in 2019.

Indianapolis signed Houston to a two-year, $24 million deal on March 22. Three days later, 1070 The Fan's Kevin Bowen weighed in on Houston's addition to the Colts' defensive line.

In signing Houston to a two-year deal, the Colts have a defensive lineman that must garner pre-game attention from an opposing offense.

That luxury is not something the Colts have had off the edge, to the degree of a Houston and his sack history, since Robert Mathis in 2013.

Even with Houston on the back nine of his career, he showed late last year he's got some pretty good game left in him.

Keep in mind that Houston recorded 22.0 sacks during the 2014 season with the Chiefs. This ties him with Jared Allen and Mark Gastineau for the second-most number of a sacks in a single season. Only former New York Giants pass rusher Michael Strahan (22.5) has more.

Granted, Houston's sack production has declined in recent years. However, he did have 9.0 sacks in his last hurrah in Kansas City.

At 30 years of age, he still has what it takes. Houston should make the Colts' defense more formidable. Just imagine him and 2018 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Darius Leonard wreaking havoc on opposing teams.

Don't be surprised if Houston helps propel Indy to a Super Bowl appearance in Miami in February.
