The Indianapolis Colts have a new sheriff in town and that's quarterback Philip Rivers.

After a disappointing 7-9 campaign which followed after a solid 11-5 playoff season in 2018, the Colts are ready to contend again. Needless to say, they're relying on the grizzled old veteran quarterback to make them contenders again.

As Indianapolis looks to clinch just its second postseason berth in the past six years, they'll likely rely on a dynamic offensive attack in order to make that happen. The 38-year-old quarterback made sure to single out his new teammates, including the running game and the offensive line.

Via Kevin Hickey of Colts Wire:

“I think Colts fans should expect a real versatile, dynamic attack. The one thing I can say that has been confirmed is the guys up front and the way we run the football is pretty awesome,” Rivers said Wednesday. “Obviously, we are all excited about that. I’m fired up about that. So that’s where it starts and usually good things come from that. We are going to be very multiple and very dynamic.”

Despite the fact that the offensive unit ranked a lackluster 16th in total points and 25th in total yardage last season, Indianapolis still ranked seventh in the league in rushing yards. The unit features a number of talented skill-position players. This offense includes the likes of four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver T.Y. Hilton, running back Marlon Mack and two-time Pro Bowl tight end Jack Doyle.

It also doesn't hurt that all three of those players have continuity with the franchise. Hilton will be entering his ninth season with the franchise, Mack will be entering his fourth season, while Doyle is entering his eighth season. That's not even mentioning the fact that all three players have only been with the Colts during their entire playing careers.

If the Colts hope to do some damage in what appears to be a tough AFC South division yet again — the Tennessee Titans advanced to the AFC Championship Game last season while the Houston Texans won the division — Rivers is going to have to rely heavily upon his talented supporting cast.
