Despite the offseason just starting, there have been many rumors about quarterback Tom Brady potentially signing with the Indianapolis Colts. Brady is set to become a free agent for the first time in his 20-year career. This past week, former Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne revealed his thoughts about Brady potentially singing with his former team.

Via Mackenzie Salmon of USA TODAY Sports:

“It’s kind of weird right? It was kind of like me going to play for the Patriots. But I think the Colts are looking more for a guy for the future. Obviously, it’s kind of hard to say no to [Brady], but I think they are more looking into the future of how they can move the organization forward instead of being in the same situation again next year.”

The Colts have a bright future with players such as T.Y. Hilton and Marlon Mack. However, the quarterback position still remains questionable heading into the offseason.

Jacoby Brissett started off the season strong going 5-2, but he struggled significantly towards the end of the season. He finished 29th in the league in passing yards per game (196.1) and 26th in completion percentage (60.8).

Wayne believes the Colts are most likely seeking a younger quarterback for the future. Brady will be turning 43 years old this year, however, he has stated that he wants to play until he reaches 45.

Nonetheless, it'll be interesting to see what the Colts will do at the quarterback position this offseason. They'll have the No. 13 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, which takes place in April.
