Ryan Grant has chosen his new team. Less than a week after having his deal with the Baltimore Ravens voided due to a failed physical, the wide receiver has decided to join the Indianapolis Colts. Former NFL wideout-cum-analyst James Jones once again broke the news.

FA WR Ryan Grant who visited the Colts and Raiders has made his decision. Sources tell me he will be signing with the #Colts He’s headed back there today

Grant, 27, is coming off a breakout year with the Washington Redskins last season as he had 45 catches for 573 yards and four touchdowns. He had a four-year, $29 million contract with the Ravens in place this offseason, but the Ravens were not satisfied with the condition of his previously injured ankle during his physical with the team.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Grant's deal with Indianapolis will be for just one year and $5 million, which is a significant drop-off from what he got with Baltimore. He will now have to prove his worth once again this upcoming season before going back to the open market next year.

Grant has a good opportunity to showcase his talents in Indianapolis, which likely factored into his decision to chose the Colts over the Raiders. The Colts have a need for a new No. 2 wideout behind Pro Bowler TY Hilton after they allowed Donte Moncrief to walk in free agency this offseason. Aside from Hilton and Moncrief, no other Colts receiver had over 300 receiving yards and more than one touchdown last season.

But while the Colts can offer a bigger role for Grant, they have a bit more uncertainty at quarterback. Andrew Luck missed the entire 2017 season following shoulder surgery, and it remains to be seen what level of play he’ll be at when he returns.
