Washington Commanders owner Daniel Snyder continues to evade a Congressional subpoena by hanging out on his superyacht overseas. While Snyder's lawyer could accept a subpoena to testify in front of the House Oversight Committee on his behalf, that's not happening because he would prefer to testify voluntarily. Committee Chairwoman Carolyn Maloney had accepted Snyder's offer to testify July 28 via videoconference, but she wants him to do it under a subpoena.

Since Snyder is overseas, he can't be served with the subpoena. The Commanders owner didn't show up to an invitation to a hearing last month when Roger Goodell testified, instead attending an awards ceremony in France. That's when Maloney first said she planned to serve Snyder with a subpoena.

While Daniel Snyder evades Congress, a new Twitter account was made to track his boat and private jets. PFT has the details, though there is a flaw:

A new Twitter account tracks Snyder’s massive boat, the Lady S, wherever it may be. The account also eyeballs Snyder’s private jets. The information is all based on public-available data, and it was started by a fan of the team (and not a fan of Snyder) who was at home with COVID and had nothing to do.

The only flaw is that it doesn’t show where Snyder is. And that’s the most important information for the Oversight Committee, which wants to subpoena him for testimony. His lawyer refuses to accept it on his behalf, forcing the Committee to try to serve him the old-fashioned way. If they can find him on domestic soil.

It seems like Daniel Snyder is just going to try to run out on the clock on this. Perhaps the House Oversight Committee will relent and make a deal for him to testify voluntarily, though in that case he would probably stonewall the questions.

Snyder and the Commanders are the subject of an investigation into the organization's workplace. The NFL fined the Commanders $10 million after their investigation, but Congress then began their own after complaints about a lack of transparency.
