Dallas Cowboys rookie wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has high hopes as he gets set to embark on the first year of his NFL journey.

Lamb was asked what kind of goals he has for himself ahead of his rookie campaign for the Cowboys, and the former Oklahoma star made it clear he is setting a high bar (via Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram):

“Be a Hall of Famer,” Lamb said boldly when asked for his career goals. “Have as much of an impact or more that Michael had on the game and on America’s Team. I want to be on a team that makes unbelievable memories together. I feel like that is what we are going to do here.”

“I can’t wait.”

The Cowboys have 13 members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, including coaches. Just two of those–Bob Hayes and Michael Irvin–were wide receivers.

But Lamb is immensely confident in himself, and he should feel quite excited at his prospects with the Cowboys, playing for one of the most explosive offenses in football.

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott had the best season of his career in 2019, and the addition of Lamb gives him yet another weapon out wide. Lamb, Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup should all benefit from the attention each will draw from opposing defenses.

The Cowboys refused to pass up on the opportunity to draft Lamb–regarded by some as the best receiver in the 2020 class–when he fell to them with the 17th overall pick.

Lamb had a prolific career at Oklahoma. He is a certified deep threat for the Cowboys, having averaged 19.0 yards per reception during his time in Norman. He is nothing if not explosive; he is not going to be satisfied with merely being a possession receiver in the NFL.

The rookie has supreme confidence as he hopes to help lead the Cowboys back to the playoffs in 2020.
