Cris Carter is known for taking a look at things players are facing that don't necessarily have anything to do with on-field production. He did that once again following Ezekiel Elliott signing a massive six-year, $90 million contract with the Dallas Cowboys.

While the deal has been expected to get done for quite some time, Elliott sparked some drama this offseason by leaving the country and training in Cabo. Jerry Jones said some things that Elliott did not agree with, but the two sides were able to come together on a deal. Now, Carter is taking a look at how much pressure the superstar running back is facing following his new contract.

Carter spoke out on the pressure Elliott is facing in a segment on his show, First Things First.

Obviously, Carter is 100 percent correct with the statement above. Elliott has always faced pressure as one of the best players in the NFL, but the Cowboys just invested more in him than any other team has ever invested in a running back. That comes with a lot of pressure.

If Elliott gets off to a slow start, regardless of missing training camp and the preseason, the media is going to go crazy. Fans are going to go crazy as well if the production doesn't live up to the hype.

All of that being said, Elliott is going to step up this season with the Cowboys. Dallas could not be more excited to have Elliott locked up for the rest of his prime and are going to get him back into the action immediately. It is unknown how big of a role he will have in Week 1 against the Giants, but the crushing pressure begins now.
