The Dallas Cowboys have a lot of extending to do, with Dak Prescott, Amari Cooper, and Ezekiel Elliott all needing new contracts soon. There's been a lot of talk about whether or not Dallas will be able to get all three of them done, although management has consistently insisted that they intend to do so.

Prescott, as the quarterback, is probably going to be the top priority. While he's understandably anxious to get his payday settled, Prescott is also looking forward to seeing his teammates get taken care of, per Jori Epstein of USA Today.

Prescott doesn't think fitting all three contracts into the cap is going to be too hard.

“For somebody to say you can only take so much because of the salary cap or you can only do this or that, I don’t know how fair that is to say,” Prescott said. “Because with gambling, with everything going into this league, everything is going to continue to keep going up.”

It's an interesting point, and not one that you hear players make often. Prescott talking about gambling is spot on, and it shows that players are paying close attention to league revenue issues.

“It’s important for all these guys to get every bit of their worth. I want to see Zeke the highest paid. I want to see Amari the highest paid. I want to see myself up there. And I don’t think any of that is too far-fetched. Because at the end of the day, when it’s all said and done, a year or two later, you’re not going to be the highest paid. That’s just the way the game goes,” he continued.

Prescott is clearly very aware of the situation league-wide, as evidenced by his acknowledgment that the ‘highest-paid' players aren't the highest paid for very long. He knows what he's talking about, and is making it clear that he supports his teammates in their processes. The season is drawing nearer, and the Cowboys certainly want to have deals done sooner rather than later.
