The Dallas Cowboys are already struggling to keep up with the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, but things just got a lot worse for Mike McCarthy's squad.

After jumping up for a completion, star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb landed on his head. He was seen slowly walking to the locker room at halftime and didn't come back onto the field for the start of the second half. Sideline reporter Erin Andrews announced during the third quarter that Lamb had been ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Lamb was placed into concussion protocol and subsequently ruled out with concussion-like symptoms. His absence will be a big blow to the Cowboys' hopes of staging a comeback against the Patrick Mahomes-led Chiefs.

The third-year wide receiver could be forced to miss the Cowboys' Thanksgiving matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders. He'll be up against the clock to make it back in time considering the game will be played on just four days rest.

With Amari Cooper already sidelined due to COVID-19, the NFL's most potent offense just got a lot less threatening. Both players still have a chance to play on Thursday, but there's a significant risk they won't be ready in time.

Fortunately for the Cowboys, Michael Gallup recently returned from the hamstring injury that landed him on IR after Week 1, so they won't be without all three of their top receiving options.

Prior to sustaining the injury, Lamb had three receptions and 14 yards as Kansas City's defense had managed to stifle Dak Prescott and the rest of the Cowboys' aerial attack.
