The Dallas Cowboys looked impressive against the Jacksonville Jaguars but Ezekiel Elliott knows if they don't win this weekend against the Washington Redskins it doesn't mean anything.

“It was a game we needed,” Elliott said via Star-Telegram. “I’ve said it before – if we don’t build on it, everything we did last week really means nothing.”

The Cowboys have been good at home this year, but on the road, it has been a real struggle. They have played two games away from Jerry World against the Houston Texans and the Seattle Seahawks and they were on the losing end in both of the games.

On the road, the Cowboys look undisciplined and have way too many penalties, something the Cowboys know they need to clean up for this game.

“We need to. I think it’s absolutely mandatory that we do,” Ezekiel Elliott said. “That’s our focus this week is going into this game, having great communication and starting fast, putting points on the board.”

The NFC East is wide open with three teams having three wins and the New York Giants sitting in last place with only one victory. With a conference game this weekend it would give them a big leg up if they could come away with a victory.

Elliott is having a really nice season rushing for 586 yards and three touchdowns and he is also going to be a huge key in this game.

“Last week their game plan was to take away the running back run so I mean if you take away the RB you have to contain 4,” Elliott said. “I think it’s probably easier to take away the keep and let me get it honestly but you know, it does help.”
