The Dallas Cowboys are trending toward being able to put a complete grapple hold on the NFC East division title this week eyeing their sixth straight win.

In the course of the last couple of weeks of practice star running back Ezekiel Elliott has notably been limited on the field. Although it hasn't drawn any concern about him missing any playing time, he was able to make his return to the practice field on Thursday morning, according to Calvin Watkins of The Athletic.

Elliott has been dealing with a nagging issue sore shoulder over the last several days. It hasn't put his availability in jeopardy, but it is a consistent problem that he has been a constant ailment that has had to work through. If it had forced him to miss practice at this point in the week, then that would be the only time it could warrant some heavier concern that he may miss some playing time. Keep in mind, he had been recently pushing his way past some sore hips last week that limited his participation in practice.

At this point, it is him just managing his body through the course of the season in order to keep him fresh and on the field for the long run toward the playoffs in hopes in he can play a big part in their push to the Super Bowl. Elliott has been the primary piece to the puzzle offensive for the Cowboys in his first two-plus seasons in the league that has only ramped up in his third campaign.

The 23-year-old currently leads the NFL with 1,262 rushing yards and six touchdowns along with 65 catches for 502 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Elliott has notched more than 100 rushing yards seven times including reaching that mark in three out of the last four games played. He will continue to be the focal point of the Cowboys' offensive game plan down the stretch of the season.
