After months of looking over his request, the NFL has conditionally reinstated Randy Gregory for the 2020 season. As he prepares to rejoin the Dallas Cowboys, Gregory shared his immediate reaction to the great news on Thursday via his official Twitter account.

Since February of 2019, Gregory was serving an indefinite suspension from the NFL. The former No. 60 pick out of Nebraska in the 2015 NFL Draft was suspended due to violating the league's substance-abuse policy.

Instead of receiving a certain amount of games, Gregory was suspended indefinitely because it was his fourth time being suspended. He was unable to play with the Cowboys during the 2019 season and the team has been awaiting his return for over a year.

Even though his status in the league was undetermined, Dallas felt comfortable enough to extend his contract through 2020. Then, back in March, it was reported that Gregory would apply for reinstatement to return to the Cowboys.

Ever since then, the team has been persistently trying to convince the NFL to give him another chance. Seeing that he got the answer he wanted, Gregory seems thankful toward the Cowboys organization for their efforts in allowing him to return to football.

Upon his return, Gregory is expected to become a rotational edge rusher in Dallas' new-look pass rush. Alongside Demarcus Lawrence and Tyrone Crawford, the Cowboys now have Everson Griffen and Aldon Smith as well.

Just as expected, Gregory seems to be excited and motivated to rejoin his teammates this season. At the same time, we're all rooting for him to make the most of his opportunity and avoid any distractions moving forward.
