The Dallas Cowboys are struggling. Quarterback Dak Prescott, now in his second season, is also struggling. Following a Thanksgiving loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, the gunslinger opened up about the team's woes.

“The last thing I am doing is pointing a finger and saying we need this guy or we need that to happen,” Prescott said, via the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “We just have to figure out what is going on and get out of this funk.”

The issues with the Cowboys seem rather obvious, if we are being honest.

Dallas has been ravaged by injuries. In turn, Dak Prescott is no longer surrounded by all-world talent at all times. This has resulted in the signal-caller less looking like a franchise quarterback and more like a guy in only his second National Football League season.

Other players on the roster are as confused about the team's struggles as are some fans.

“I don’t know (what's wrong),” running back Alfred Morris said. “I can’t figure out what it is, honestly, so try to go back to the drawing board.”

Center Travis Frederick joins in on the fun.

“Honestly, right now I’m not sure what the issues are,” he said.

Maybe a veteran can shed some light on what is happening?

“I wish it was as simple as one answer,” tight end Jason Witten said. “Collectively, our offense hasn’t gotten going. We’re just behind the chains too much and not making plays.”

Again, not to make complex issues too simplistic, it is easy to imagine this Dallas team being far better if key players weren't out with injury. Call me naive, but I expect a full return to form next season.
