It appears as though that it will soon be the end of the line for longtime Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett, regardless of how the team's season ends in 2019-20. Despite the fact that the Cowboys remain more than likely to reach the postseason by way of a division title, team owner Jerry Jones already appears to be hinting at potential replacements for Garrett — former Florida Gators and Ohio State Buckeyes head football coach Urban Meyer.

However, Jones has remained quite vague upon commenting on the seemingly ongoing situation.

“Specifically, in answering that question, I don’t want to imply we wouldn’t, in a way that would diminish the credibility of the coach or a player or somebody you’re asking about,” Jones recently told 105.3 The Fan’s Shan and RJ. “Normally when somebody says, ‘Have you met with such-and-such?’ or ‘Are you interested in such-and-such?’ and you say, ‘I have not,’ the implication is you’re not interested. That shouldn’t be brought forward, either. The facts are that we just have not talked to any coach- potential coach- in the NFL.”

As it stands today, the struggling Cowboys somehow sit in first place in the NFC East division, thanks to the team's nearly even 6-7 record. With both the Washington Redskins and New York Giants well out of contention, the Philadelphia Eagles also sit at 6-7 and remain in the thick of the NFC East race. It is also worth noting that the Cowboys and Eagles will square off once again in Week 16 in the “City of Brotherly Love.”
