The Dallas Cowboys struggled for three and a half quarters against the New York Giants on Monday, but Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper finally landed a knockout punch against Big Blue.

A 45-yard pitch-and-catch connection enabled the Cowboys to gain a 30-18 cushion and avoid an 0-2 record in the Meadowlands this year. The Cowboys had lost in MetLife Stadium against the Jets earlier this season. They didn't lose on their return trip to New Jersey to face the Giants.

The Cowboys and Giants played an ugly game filled with turnovers, penalties, and bizarre play calls, but as the old saying goes, “An ugly win is better than a pretty loss.” The Cowboys led 30-18 at the two-minute warning late in regulation, putting them in position to move to 5-3 and maintain a lead over the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East.

Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper came through when the Cowboys needed them to rescue this game. They will need to continue to maintain their crunch-time competence if Dallas is to contend in the NFC.
