Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman David Irving has always been a character, and his behavior has always been interesting, if not a bit concerning.

Irving was just suspended indefinitely by the NFL for a third time, and he took to Instagram Live to announce that he is done with the NFL … all while smoking a blunt:

Of course, we don't know if David Irving is going to remain true to his decision, but he seems pretty forthright here, adding that the NFL “doesn't define him.”

Irving mainly took aim at the NFL's drug policy after his third suspension was handed down a few weeks ago.

The thing about Irving is, when he is on the field, he is a pretty good player.

This past season, he played in just two games due to a suspension and off-the-field issues, but in 2017, Irving registered 21 tackles, seven sacks, a forced fumble and six passes defended in just eight games, demonstrating that he could be a dominant force if he could actually stay on the gridiron.

The 25-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Iowa State University, went undrafted but landed with the Cowboys in September 2015 after being signed from the Kansas City Chiefs' practice squad.

He played in 12 games during his rookie campaign, finishing with 13 tackles and a half a sack. Then, the following season, Irving appeared in 15 contests and registered 17 tackles, four sacks, a fumble recovery and five passes defended.
