Jason Witten is a legend among Dallas Cowboys fans. He is well-loved by the fanbase after putting together a lot of incredible performances. However, his first official game back in the team was something fans of America's Team definitely appreciated.

He reminded the fans what he can do with the football after making his first receiving touchdown back as a Cowboy.

This first touchdown back in the game makes for a funny joke, but there's more to it than that. For a team that has the likes of Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott running the show, it's great that they have veteran leadership to keep things in order.

Witten is an accomplished tight end during his 15 years in the league. He spent all of his years with the Cowboys, making 1,152 catches for 12,448 yards. He is an 11-time Pro Bowler and a two-time selection to the First-Team All-Pro team.

Moreover, the drive that saw him succeed in the NFL hasn't gone away.

“So many times, when you come back … What’s your role? … Listen: I’m not gonna get caught up in the roadkill of that,” he told [Peter] King, per Heavy.com's Zack Kelberman. “I think I’m gonna be really good. I’ve worked hard. My expectations have always been more than anybody’s put on me. Will I catch 100 passes? Probably not. Can I help this team win football games? I believe so. That’s the ultimate challenge. I gotta show that. This young team, it’s a talented roster. The impact you can have on a daily basis … every day I’m thinking, How can I make them [teammates] better through my personal experiences? It’s a show-me game. I was taught that early on, as a 21-year-old kid, green as can be, coming into Dallas. You better be able to show it. I’ll live with the results, because I know what I’m all about.”

It's still a long season ahead, but fans are just happy to see No. 82 back on the field and doing what he does best.
