DeMarcus Cousins is playing into his seventh career season with the Sacramento Kings.

During his tenure so far, many around the league have been anticipating a trade for awhile. Earlier this season one NBA executive spoke out in anticipation of Cousins leaving in free agency.

The situation almost lends itself to this thinking with the way things have gone in Sacramento.

Cousins has played under six different head coaches since joining the NBA. Each time, the team has failed to make the playoffs despite the big man's 20 points 10 rebounds in his career.

Kings management has been unstable and doesn't seem to have a solid plan for contention. Even the owner has made wacky comments such as wanting the team to play 4-on-5 defense, although he later denied it.

Through all of the rumors and talk, Cousins maintains he is content in his present position.

“I talk to management a lot. We’re on the same page. I’m not worried about it.

“To know that you’re wanted throughout the league … I’d be worried if nobody wanted me. Then I’d have a situation on my hands. But I’m happy where I am. I’m happy with this team. I’m in a great place.”

Management has also denied wanting to rid themselves of their only uber-talented All-Star although the rumors persist.

Does Cousins really believe he'll be gone before the February 23 deadline? Deep down he doesn't.

“Unless you know something I don’t.”

No one really knows, but the rumors won't stop unless the Kings start winning.
