Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson has led the surging AFC South franchise to the divisional round of the playoffs, most recently helping his team defeat the Buffalo Bills.

With Deshaun Watson proving to be a leader on and off the field in addition to possessing some insane ability from under center, the Texans will now take on the Kansas City Chiefs in the divisional round of the playoffs, thanks to Houston's overtime win over the Bills on “Wild Card Weekend.”

Although the Texans have also relied on All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and runnings backs Carlos Hyde and Duke Johnson, Watson has no doubt been the catalyst for Houton this season. Producing every step of the way this season, Watson has put Houston in a legitimate position to compete for a Super Bowl before all is said and done in 2019-20.

Deshaun Watson led Houston Texans to yet another AFC South crown

Thanks to the consistent play of veteran quarterback Deshaun Watson, the Houston Texans notably edged out the rival Tennessee Titans en route to winning yet another AFC South title. Because Watson was able to come up big when it mattered most, like as a result of the team's massive Week 15 win over the aforementioned Titans, the Texans were able to once again host a playoff game in 2019-20.

With the former first round NFL Draft pick bringing the Texans to new heights, Houston currently serves as a major threat to the AFC West Champion Kansas City Chiefs — all of which can be attributed to Watson's success and comfortability this time around.

Deshaun Watson produced a 2:1 touchdown-to-interception ratio in 2019-20

Not only did Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson come up clutch time and time again this season, but he also produced some gaudy numbers along the way. Although Watson did not manage to throw for more than 4,000 yards or for at least 30 touchdowns, he did tally one statistic in particular that can be directly correlated to the team's ongoing success.

Watson notably threw for 26 touchdowns against just 12 interceptions over the course of 15 regular season games in 2019-20. As a result, the third-year signal caller registered a stellar 2:1 touchdown-to-interception ratio. It is also worth noting that Watson recorded 3,852 yards through the air while completing just under 69 percent of his passing attempts across his 15 regular season appearances this year.

Deshaun Watson remained healthy throughout the 2019-20 regular season

Perhaps the most important takeaway from the 2019-20 regular season is the fact that Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson managed to stay completely healthy for the entire campaign. Watson appeared in 15 of 16 regular season games for the Texans this year while only missing the team's Week 17 matchup against the rival Tennessee Titans due to rest as it was a meaningless game for Houston. Watson also appeared in all 16 regular season games last year, his second in Houston, which has now given him back-to-back healthy seasons.

Leading to this accomplishment, Watson infamously suffered a devastating knee injury as a rookie back in 2017-18. As a result of such a setback, he only appeared in seven regluar season games for the Texans that season.
