The Miami Dolphins have scheduled a meeting for next week with Washington State quarterback Luke Falk, the Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson reports.

Falk becomes the second quarterback the Dolphins are known to have used one of their 30 alotted meetings with non-local draft prospects; Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield was the first.

The Dolphins attended Falk’s Pro Day and are reportedly “intrigued” by his skill set. Falk had a decorated four-year career in Pullman as he racked up tremendous numbers in head coach Mike Leach's Air Raid system.

Falk threw for 14,481 yards with 119 touchdowns and 39 interceptions, with a 68.3 completion percentage as he broke the Pac-12’s all-time records for career passing attempts, completions, completion percentage, passing yards, and passing touchdowns.

Last season, he threw for 3,593 yards, 30 touchdowns and 13 interceptions, with a 66.9 completion percentage as he led Wazzu to a 9-4 record and a third-straight bowl game berth.

The Dolphins have already signed one quarterback this offseason in Brock Osweiler. He joins David Fales as potential backups for the returning Ryan Tannehill, who missed all of last season due to a torn ACL. Tannehill will likely reclaim his place as the team’s starting quarterback from Jay Cutler.

However, Tannehill hasn’t exactly been convincing during his time as the team’s starter, which is likely why the Dolphins have continued to explore their options at quarterback. While Mayfield would be an ideal pick, the Dolphins likely won't end up with him unless they're willing to trade up from their current spot at No. 11.

If they do miss out on Mayfield, then Falk will be an intriguing option to consider if they do decide to pick up a quarterback in the later rounds.
